Luz María was born in Chile and studied nursing at the University of Chile, graduating with maximum distinction. She has worked in public and private health institutions, initially in the emergency department and later in critical patient units.
Working for 10 years in the Vascular Brain Unit, gave her the opportunity to develop specific knowledge about the care and treatment of patients with acute stroke. But the most important thing for her is to work not only with the patient but with their family and social environment. She believes that it is possible to shift paradigms, improve the health system and give life a chance.
